Canada has resumed the Ukrainian training mission in Great Britain. As reported by Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on Facebook . As the General Staff reminded, on August 12 a detachment of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) servicemen, mainly from the 1st Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group of the 3rd Canadian Division, based in Edmonton, arrived in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to resume training of the Forces defense of Ukraine as part of the UNIFIER-UK training operation. On June 30, the UK Ministry of Defense appealed for international support for its large-scale initiative to train Ukrainian Defense Force recruits in the UK. Together with allies in the United Kingdom, Canadian Armed Forces soldiers conduct targeted training of Ukrainian recruits in individual and collective military skills. “It is an incredible honor for us to resume the training of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Our training teams are made up of highly qualified, motivated and professional military personnel who are dedicated to this mission. We provide vital training that serves to strengthen the capabilities, strength and combat readiness of an already proven and determined Defense Forces of Ukraine,” said Warrant Officer Corey Ozerkiewicz, the UNIFIER-UK training operation sergeant major. According to Corporal Justin Cole, a soldier with the 3rd Battalion of the Canadian Armed Forces Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (3 PPCLI), the Ukrainian mission is also an educational one. The days are long but rewarding, and I’m proud to be a part of this missions”. As reported by Ukrinform, the training of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the INTERFLEX operation continues in Great Britain. It is planned to train about 10,000 Ukrainian servicemen.
